Very reasonable-priced home-cooked style Korean food at Tanjong Pagar. The service is excellent, and we also got the free corn cheese.

I had a sudden craving for Galbijjim—those delicious Korean braised beef short ribs—and was thrilled to find a spot nearby serving it! Gave it a try, and while it was decent, I’ve had more flavorful versions elsewhere. That said, the portion was generous—perfect for sharing between two. I really enjoyed the variety of banchan (Korean side dishes)—lots to sample and savor! The ambience is simple and fuss-free, but the staff were attentive and efficient, which made the experience pleasant. We rounded off the meal with some refreshing makgeolli—made for a nice dinner overall!

Dal-In has managed to stand its own against the many new entrants in the Telok Ayer neighbourhood with its no-frills yet dependable food. The kimchi jjigae had a nice sour tang and went well with rice. The mini ban ban pancakes are perfect for sharing between 2 people and stayed crisp even when cooled. The banchan were alright but I felt that the kimchi was a bit underripe.

I'd rate this place a solid 4 out of 5 . It's a comforting and basic Korean restaurant, not too fancy or over the top. If you're looking for authentic Korean food at a reasonable price, this is a safe bet. The service is good, the food is authentic, and they offer a great variety of refillable side dishes. Plus, the ventilation is good. Ambiance: I visited on a Tuesday night. Initially, the crowd was significantly low, but it started to pick up after 7:30 PM. The place eventually became filled, mainly with regulars. The staff seemed a little stretched thin at times, but they maintained a good attitude and provided good service. Cold barley tea and Korean side dishes are served complimentary. Here is what we had: ------- Half Half Jeon ($25): This dish is interesting as it's split in half, allowing you to try both the regular spring onion pancake and the kimchi pancake. It's good for sharing between about three people, as each side has about 3 slices. The flour-to-ingredients ratio is pretty good (1:1), and for $25, it's reasonably priced compared to other places. Jjajangmyeon ($16.00), Jjamppong ($18) & Mul Naengmyeon ($18): I don't think I need to go into detail about these Korean noodle staples. For the price, they are pretty good. The flavour isn't extraordinary, but they are standard and delicious. The portion sizes are good. I'd give them a 4 out of 5 as a reliable Korean food option if you want to return for more, not just a one-time thing. Sundae Gukbap ($20): This is a relatively interesting dish that I don't usually order. The flavour was mild, and self seasoning is encouraged with the array of condiments. Gukbap (rice with soup) is a comforting hangover dish with hot soup and rice. The use of soondae (blood sausages) and some pig parts creates a comforting, porky bone broth that goes well with rice, especially when served hot. It comes with complimentary condiments like fermented tiny shrimps, sesame powder, and chilli sauce for extra flavour. Steamed Egg ($20): This was unfortunately below my expectations. It's hard to mess up steamed egg, but at this restaurant, it deflated quickly. Even though it had a dome shape initially, it wasn't very fluffy or beautifully plated. The sesame aroma was almost non-existent. For $20, this dish wasn't worth it. I'd suggest skipping it if you're not okay with that price point, as there are definitely better places to have this dish.

Loved the pork belly! We went a little early for dinner, which turned out great, we got a nice quiet spot to enjoy our meal. By the time dinner peak came around, the place was almost full. The beef was also cooked really well. Overall, a good dining experience

This colorful rice bowl is beautifully layered with fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked beef, and a fried egg, all bathed in a spicy gochujang sauce that brings a delightful heat to every bite. The generous side dishes, or banchan, that accompany the meals are equally impressive, showcasing everything from kimchi to pickled radishes, each providing a unique taste of Korean tradition.
